Cuts for Careers is an employment-readiness initiative of Esther-Lynn Community Development created to remove one of the small but meaningful barriers individuals may face while preparing to enter or re-enter the workforce.
We believe preparing for employment is about more than having a résumé. Looking professional can help an individual feel more confident, make a stronger first impression, and walk into an employment opportunity with a renewed sense of purpose.
Through Cuts for Careers, eligible individuals preparing for a job interview, job fair, hiring event, employment orientation, or first day of work may receive a professional haircut at no cost to them.
The program is intended for individuals preparing for:

- Starting a new job
How the Program Works
Esther-Lynn Community Development partners with participating community barbershops and funds professional haircuts for approved job seekers through our Cuts for Careers voucher program.
Eligible participants receive a numbered and authorized voucher that can be presented at a participating barbershop for one professional haircut.
Our voucher system allows Esther-Lynn Community Development to track the services we provide while ensuring that donated and organizational funds are being used directly to support employment readiness.
